Alex Mallis' short film Spoils was recently featured in New York Magazine, Narrative.ly, and the Huffington Post.
From New York Magazine: "This 21-minute-long detour, sort of literally, into the gutter of New York's food waste system may change the way you feel about spiral-glazed ham. The freegan world filmmaker Alex Mallis depicts in Spoils: Extraordinary Harvest is a stealthy, entertaining argument that Dumpster diving is less of a Portlandia-style punchline and more of age-old tradition with a cast of characters not unlike the heart-shaped potato seekers in Agnès Varda's 'The Gleaners and I.'"
