Danielle Lessovitz is a ﬁlmmaker from San Francisco and Kansas City based in New York. Her short ﬁlms have screened at over thirty festivals including the Torino Film Festival, Philadelphia International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, Rooftop Films Summer Series, San Francisco Short Film Festival, and Trinidad and Tobago International Film Festival. Her work has won best short at Kansas City Film Festival and Anchorage International Film Festival and has been distributed internationally through Ovation. In 2013 she was awarded a Newﬁlmmaker award from the Philadelphia Jewish Film Society. She is a recipient of the Ben Lazeroff award for screenwriting for her short ﬁlm, The Earthquake, (2013). She is a graduate of Northwestern University where she studied documentary ﬁlm and is currently an MFA candidate at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received a TSOA scholarship for her studies.
